Today was an exciting day!  We got in at 8:24 am
to Paris.  Boarded the Metro and got to our hotel
like pros. The Metro is amazing and takes you
virtually anywhere you want to go.  They gave us
our room early and we got ready for a day on the
town.  Our first stop took us near the Eiffel
Tower.... huge and incredible.  Then we were off
on the Metro across the river to the Arc de
Trioumphe, also huge.  This city reminds me of
Washington DC. We eat lunch on the walk down
the Champs Elysées did some shopping and then
walked clear down to the Louvre.  Magnificent!!!!
Spent several hours there then took the Metro
home.  Tomorrow we will go to churches,
including Nôtre Dame.  Tonight we will rest.

Adam and I got up early and took the Retro to
the train station and took the train to
Versailles this morning.  Holy COW! This
place shows the garish extravagance of the
French aristocracy before the French
Revolution.  It is an unbelievable collection of
art works and paintings.  The gardens go on
forever and ever. Nice organ in the Chateau!
Quite a tribute to what could be done back
then with an unlimited supply of money and
power, extraordinary.

We ate lunch here in Versailles and the game
plan for this afternoon is to go back to Paris
and see Nôtre Dame.  So I bid you au revoir
as we walk to the station to take off back to
Paris.
